Surabaya, Sept. 1 -- East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa issued a Circular Letter (SE) to strengthen efforts to prevent disturbances to security, public order, and peace in the region.

The circular was issued in Surabaya on Sunday in response to community dynamics in recent days that have the potential to cause disturbances to security and public order.

Through the circular, Parawansa requested district and city governments strengthen synergy with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the National Police (Polri), and relevant agencies to maintain public order and security and prevent riots.

Furthermore, regional heads were asked to take preventative measures to secure vital objects.
