Jakarta, Nov. 1 -- Jakarta Metropolitan Police arrested 27 people and seized drugs and firearms in a raid on drug dens in the Kampung Bahari slum area of North Jakarta on Sunday.

Jakarta Police's Drug Crimes Investigation Chief Senior Commissioner Bismo Teguh Prakoso said the raid was carried out in coordination with relevant agencies.

"The raid is conducted in a multi-pronged, simultaneous approach. We are collaborating with other parties such as the National Narcotics Agency, the Police's Criminal Investigation Agency, and the Mobile Brigade," Prakoso said.

In the first phase, officers arrested four people, one suspected dealer and three drug users.

"One individual possessed psychotropic substances during his arrest," he said.
