Jakarta, Nov. 7 -- The House of Representatives (DPR) Working Committee for the National Education System Bill is seeking to bolster vocational education as one of the main pillars of education in the bill.

"There have been many inputs related to vocational education. They complained that specific competencies achieved by health workers have not been recognized," member of Commission X of the DPR Abdul Fikri Faqih said in a statement cited on Friday.

According to him, recognizing the competencies acquired from vocational education institutions is key to ensuring graduates are job-ready.
