DPD speaker says annual session links regions to national agenda
Jakarta, Aug. 10 -- Regional Representative Council (DPD) Speaker Sultan B. Najamudin said the annual session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) on August 14 serves as a moment to connect regional voices with the national agenda.
"This moment affirms that the face of Indonesia's parliament consists of two forms of representation, namely the House of Representatives (DPR) as political representation and the DPD as regional representation. The two complement each other," Najamudin said here on Monday.
He said the constitutional forum should be an opportunity to strengthen stakeholders' commitment to ensuring development reaches every region.
