Jakarta, April 6 -- Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Akhmad Wiyagus called for regional governments' commitment to accelerating tuberculosis (TB) elimination as part of efforts to protect the community and support national development.
He emphasized that the success of eliminating TB depends heavily on regional leadership, particularly in integrating TB control policies into regional planning and budgeting.
"Tuberculosis is not merely a health issue; it also impacts public productivity, poverty levels, and the quality of human resources. This must be addressed seriously as it could hinder the national development agenda," he stressed in a statement on Monday.
