Jakarta, Aug. 16 -- Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo inaugurated Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo as his deputy in Jakarta on Saturday.

Head of the Polri Public Relations Division Inspector General Sandi Nugroho stated that Prasetyo's appointment as Polri Deputy Chief was formalized in a letter signed on August 5 by Inspector General Anwar, the police chief's assistant for human resources.

"Consequently, Commissioner General Prasetyo officially relinquished his position as Polri's inspector general of supervision to the police chief," Nugroho noted in a statement cited here.
