Jakarta, Sept. 30 -- Indonesia's sovereign wealth manager Danantara is preparing Rp2 trillion to Rp3 trillion ($123 million to $185 million) for each waste-to-energy (WTE) project site, with 33 facilities planned across the country, an executive said on Tuesday.
Each site will be designed to process 1,000 tons of waste per day, Managing Director for Investment Stefanus Ade Hadiwidjaja told reporters at Danantara's Jakarta headquarters.
"In many countries, waste problems have been addressed using WTE technology, particularly incinerators. For a capacity of around 1,000 tons, the total investment, including supporting infrastructure, will be about Rp2 trillion to Rp3 trillion," he said.
