Jakarta, May 21 -- Indonesian Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said he would dismiss Customs and Excise Director General Djaka Budhi Utama if the latter is found guilty in a bribery case involving John Field, the indicted owner of Blueray Cargo.

While declining to interfere in the ongoing legal process, the minister stressed his commitment to taking firm action against the customs chief if any violations are proven, in line with President Prabowo Subianto's directive to reform the customs office.

"I will not interfere in the trial process. Let us wait for the court's decision," he told reporters in Jakarta on Thursday, adding that Utama "should indeed be removed" if proven guilty.
