Jakarta, Aug. 10 -- Minister of Culture Fadli Zon has underscored that Indonesia's cultural diversity serves as a unifying force for the nation in achieving a Golden Indonesia 2045.
He made the remarks ahead of the 80th anniversary of Indonesia's independence.
"We should be grateful to God Almighty, as not all nations endure for eight decades," he said at the 2025 Gita Bahana Nusantara Independence Concert on Saturday evening (September 8) in Jakarta.
Indonesia is home to 1,340 ethnic groups, 718 languages, and thousands of intangible cultural heritages, Fadli noted. This wealth of diversity, he said, strengthens national identity and solidarity, acting as a binding rather than dividing force.
