Jakarta, Oct. 14 -- Decontamination of areas exposed to radioactive Cesium-137 (Cs-137) in the Cikande Industrial area, including factories, is targeted for completion in December 2025.

"We are not only addressing physical contamination, but also building a strong regulatory foundation to prevent similar incidents from recurring," Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq said in a statement on Tuesday.

He explained that the task force has begun decontamination measures at ten key locations, with a target of completing the work in stages within one month.
