Wamena, Aug. 10 -- The Papua Special Autonomy Development Acceleration Steering Committee (BP3OKP) has welcomed President Prabowo Subianto's order to build 2,200 decent housing units for residents of Highland Papua.
Under the plan, 2,000 houses on 45-square-meter plots will be built for the general public, while 200 larger homes on 90-square-meter plots will be allocated to tribal chiefs in the province's eight districts.
Head of the Highland Papua BP3OKP Office, Hantor Matuan, said the directive reflects the president's genuine concern for the region.
