Jakarta, July 30 -- Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi stated that the commemoration of National Children's Day (HAN) is expected to add a fresh dimension to introducing and preserving local culture through traditional games.

"Beloved children, apart from having fun, this activity can certainly reconnect social bonds that may have been eroded amid (society) that becomes more individualistic," she noted in a statement here on Wednesday.

According to Fauzi, playing traditional games that are rich in sportsmanship and cooperation will instill a sense of solidity from an early age, regardless of background, ethnicity, race, and religion.
