Indonesia, Sept. 1 -- Central Kalimantan police are handling 19 forest and land fire cases, with 23 people named suspects during Operation Aman Nusa II since July 21, 2026.

"Law enforcement efforts continue as part of measures to curb forest and land fires in Central Kalimantan," police spokesman Budi Rachmat said here Tuesday.

Pulang Pisau police recorded the most suspects, with 10 people from four police reports. Palangka Raya police handled two reports involving three suspects, while North Barito police handled three reports involving two suspects.

"Every report received will be followed up in accordance with applicable legal procedures and provisions," he said.
