Jakarta, April 21 -- The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) encourages equalization efforts for Indonesian diaspora academics abroad so they can attain the level of principal researcher domestically.

"We are currently considering how to equalize the Indonesian diaspora abroad to reach the level of principal researcher. If we can achieve this, many diaspora will return to Indonesia and strengthen our research," said BRIN Head Arif Satria in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He emphasized that the presence of the Indonesian diaspora abroad remains important as a liaison for collaboration with various global research institutions.
