Jakarta, July 12 -- The government remains intent on delegating the responsibility of organizing Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages from the Religious Affairs Ministry to the Hajj Organizing Agency (BP Haji) starting next year, State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi emphasized.
However, he noted that the plan may be influenced by the ongoing revision of the Hajj Law by the House of Representatives (DPR).
"BP Haji was essentially founded to play the role of a Hajj organizer, but we will take into consideration the DPR's insights to be outlined in the Hajj Bill," he told the media at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday (July 11)
