Jakarta, Sept. 19 -- The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) confirmed that, as of 11:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB), no fatalities had been reported following the 6.6-magnitude earthquake that struck Nabire, Central Papua, early Friday morning.

Head of BNPB Lieutenant General Suharyanto delivered the update during a press conference in Jakarta, noting that the overall damage was relatively limited.

Reported impacts include a collapsed bridge, two severely damaged houses, shattered glass at the Nabire District Office, and a damaged church ceiling.

Additionally, several windows at Nabire Airport were reported broken.

The earthquake occurred at 3:19 a.m. local time (UTC+9), with no tsunami potential.
