Indonesia, April 6 -- The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said it is focusing on meeting logistical needs in the most remote island areas, such as Mayau and Tifure, North Maluku, following an earthquake on Thursday (April 2).

"We have coordinated for the deployment of a State Search and Rescue (SAR) Vessel to support logistics distribution," BNPB Director for Regional Handling I Agus Riyanto said here on Sunday.

In addition, he said, trauma healing assistance for residents affected by the earthquake is being provided by the Social Affairs Office with support from the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the Police.

He affirmed the central government's readiness to fully support the emergency response period in North Maluku.
