Jakarta, July 28 -- The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has urged the forest and land fire handling task force to remain vigilant through August, as several regions continue to experience the peak of the dry season.

Speaking at a national coordination meeting on forest and land fire management in Jakarta on Monday, BMKG Head Dwikorita Karnawati explained that the southern areas of Sumatra island, including South Sumatra and Lampung provinces, are still experiencing the peak of the dry season until August.
