Batam, Riau Islands, Sept. 6 -- Hang Nadim International Airport in Batam canceled five flights on Saturday because of disruptions caused by Mount Anak Krakatau's eruption, prompting airlines to adjust schedules on affected routes.

PT Bandara Internasional Batam President Director Annang Setia Budhi said the cancellations involved flights connected to airports affected by volcanic ash.

Several airports temporarily suspended operations Sunday, including Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Radin Inten II International Airport in Lampung and Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta.

The affected CGK-BTH flights were Super Air Jet flight IU-850 and Citilink Indonesia flight QG-940, according to airport management.
