Jakarta, Oct. 4 -- Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) has intensified coordination over the use of heavy machinery in the ongoing rescue operation at the collapsed Al-Khoziny Islamic Boarding School in Buduran, Sidoarjo, East Java, to ensure personnel safety and speed up victim evacuation.
Basarnas Director of Operations Yudhi Bramantyo said during a press conference from Jakarta on Saturday that lessons from the previous day underscored the need for tighter coordination between heavy equipment operators and rescue teams.
