Badung, Bali, March 28 -- Indonesian immigration officers arrested a British fugitive listed on Interpol's Red Notice shortly after he arrived at Bali's main international airport, authorities said on Saturday.

Officers at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Badung District intercepted the suspect, identified by the initials SL, moments after he landed from Singapore.

"Bali will never be a safe haven for fugitives," Ngurah Rai Immigration Office Head Bugie Kurniawan said.

The 45-year-old man was detained after the immigration system flagged him as a subject of an Interpol Red Notice, a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a wanted individual.
