Jakarta, Feb. 25 -- Bali's immigration office has deported a United States citizen, identified by the initials TS, after he completed his prison sentence for involvement in a 2014 suitcase murder case.

TS was released from Kerobokan Prison on February 17 and deported on February 24 via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali Immigration Regional Office head Felucia Sengky Ratna said on Wednesday.

"After TS served his sentence, our responsibility was to ensure his removal from Indonesia's territory, as his crime disrupted public order and violated legal norms," Ratna said.

TS was sentenced to 18 years in prison by the Denpasar District Court on July 9, 2015, for violating Article 340 of the Criminal Code.
