Denpasar, Bali, Sept. 6 -- I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali canceled more than a dozen flights to and from the island on Sunday following increased volcanic activity at Mount Anak Krakatau, airport authorities said.

"Following the increase in volcanic activity at Mount Anak Krakatau, a number of flights at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali Airport have been canceled and/or had their schedules adjusted," Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi, head of the airport's Communication and Legal Division, said in a statement.

According to airport data, as of 10 a.m. local time on Sunday, five inbound flights from Jakarta (CGK) to Bali (DPS) had been canceled.
