Jakarta, Dec. 15 -- The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) has set up a public kitchen in Padang City, West Sumatra, to produce 1,000 meal portions daily for residents affected by floods and landslides.

Head of the TNI AU Information Center, Air Vice Marshal I Nyoman stated in Jakarta on Monday that the kitchen has been operational since the early days of the disasters, supported by personnel stationed at Sutan Sjahrir Air Base.

On Friday (December 12), he said, the kitchen distributed ready-to-eat meals to disaster survivors in Anduriang Village, Padang Pariaman District, with support from local officials.
