Bekasi, West Java, Sept. 16 -- Environment Minister Moh Jumhur Hidayat said air-conditioning technicians are central to Indonesia's green-jobs drive, helping improve energy efficiency and prevent refrigerant leaks that can damage the environment.

Hidayat made the remarks on Wednesday at the World Ozone Day 2026 commemoration with Manpower Minister Yassierli at the Vocational Training and Productivity Center in Bekasi, West Java.

He said trained technicians can keep cooling systems energy-efficient while using specialized skills to prevent refrigerant leaks during installation and maintenance.
