Jakarta, Aug. 24 -- Indonesia generated 273.6 tons of fishery products worth Rp11.10 billion (around US$620,000) from the operational trial of 65 villages under the Red and White Fishing Villages (KNMP) program as of Aug. 14, 2026.

The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries said in a press release received in Jakarta on Monday that the 65 KNMPs, located in several regions across the country, had begun entering the operational phase following the completion of construction in April 2026.

During the initial project, communities produced a range of marine commodities such as tuna, squid, octopus, mackerel, pomfret, demersal species, and barramundi, marketing the yields to various regions.
