Jakarta, Aug. 20 -- A 4.9-magnitude earthquake shook Indonesia's capital, Jakarta, and surrounding regions on Wednesday at 7:54 p.m. local time, according to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

Based on the agency's official report, the epicenter was located 14 kilometers southeast of Bekasi District in West Java, east of Jakarta, at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers.

As of now, BMKG has not received any reports of damage or casualties. The agency also noted that the earthquake data may be updated as more information becomes available.
