India, Sept. 12 -- Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to New Delhi for the 18th BRICS Summit is being projected by China's state-run Global Times as an opportunity for Beijing to outline its vision for a stronger and more influential grouping in an increasingly fragmented global order.

Xi is attending the September 12-13 summit at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is expected to address the gathering and hold discussions with other leaders on international developments, the future of the BRICS mechanism and practical cooperation among member states.
