India, Sept. 4 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hailed the successful launch of ISRO's GSLV-F17/EOS-05 mission as an "outstanding achievement", as space agency chairman V Narayanan announced plans for six more launches this financial year and provided updates on the Gaganyaan programme and a new launch facility in Tamil Nadu.

Modi said the successful mission reflected the excellence, innovation and growing capabilities of India's space sector.

"Yet another outstanding achievement by ISRO and a proud moment for our nation," the Prime Minister said in a post on X, referring to EOS-05 as India's first imaging satellite from geosynchronous orbit.
