India, July 31 -- India remains unaffected by the massive 8.7 magnitude earthquake that struck off the East Coast of Kamchatka in Russia early Wednesday, according to the Indian Tsunami Early Warning Centre (ITEWC). In a morning bulletin, the centre confirmed that based on pre-run model scenarios, there is no tsunami threat to the Indian coastline. "No threat to India," the ITEWC bulletin stated, reassuring coastal communities and halting any immediate concern.
