India, Sept. 29 -- The Ministries of Home Affairs and Law and Justice on Tuesday briefed a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) examining the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, amid criticism from opposition parties and Christian organisations over several provisions of the proposed legislation.

Officials from the two ministries gave the 31-member committee a clause-by-clause presentation, explaining the rationale behind the proposed amendments to the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, and their expected implications.

The JPC, headed by BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal, was constituted to examine the Bill in detail before submitting its report to Parliament.
