Delhi Police Deny Permission for CJP's October 10 Protest, Impose Prohibitory Orders
India, Oct. 9 -- The Delhi Police have denied permission for the Cockroach Janata Party's (CJP) proposed protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10 and imposed prohibitory orders in the New Delhi district amid concerns over a demonstration against alleged electoral irregularities described by the party as "vote theft".
In view of the proposed protest and the possibility of crowds moving towards sensitive locations, the police have also requested the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to consider restricting access at 57 metro stations across the national capital and reducing train frequency at the identified stations.
