India, Sept. 24 -- The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Thursday, September 24, gave Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar 48 hours to resign and warned of nationwide protests if he does not step down.
The demand came amid a controversy over reported differences within the Election Commission of India following an investigation that said Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi had raised objections to decisions taken by the poll panel on multiple occasions.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, CJP founder and convenor Abhijeet Dipke said the organisation would hold a protest in the national capital and organise demonstrations across the country if Kumar did not resign within the deadline.
