Srilanka, Sept. 8 -- A 17-year-old youth has been injured in a shooting incident at a restaurant along the Godagama Road in Athurugiriya.



Police said two unidentified individuals who arrived on a motorcycle carried out the shooting before fleeing the scene this evening (08).



The youth, who sustained injuries in the shooting, was admitted to the Homagama Hospital for treatment.



Police said the victim is a resident of Medahinna.



The motive for the shooting and the identities of the suspects have not yet been established.



Athurugiriya Police are conducting further investigations to identify and apprehend the suspects.
