Srilanka, Aug. 31 -- Vavuniya recorded the highest temperature in Sri Lanka today (31), with the mercury rising to 38.8C, according to the Department of Meteorology.



The temperature was recorded at the Vavuniya Meteorological Station, making it the highest maximum temperature reported in the country today.
