Sri Lanka, July 2 -- The University of the Visual and Performing Arts in Colombo has been temporarily closed due to an outbreak of dengue and fever, according to the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The university is scheduled to reopen on July 13.

Accordingly, all academic activities and examinations at the university have been temporarily suspended and student hostels have been closed with immediate effect, the UGC Chairman stated.
