Srilanka, Nov. 4 -- Two individuals have been arrested in Negombo in connection with an alleged pyramid financial scheme, police stated.

The duo was apprehended yesterday (03), following an investigation launched by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) into a complaint concerning the operation, promotion, advertising, financing and management of an alleged pyramid-type financial institution.

The suspects, aged 45 and 59, are residents of Thimbirigaskatuwa and Negombo, respectively.

Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division.
