SriLanka, June 20 -- Sri Lanka's Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage continued his impressive form to secure a dominant win in the men's javelin throw competition at the Doha Diamond League 2026 in Qatar on Friday.



Rumesh Tharanga beat a heavyweight javelin field including two-time world champion Anderson Peters of Grenada, USA's Curtis Thompson, India's former Olympic and world champion Neeraj Chopra and reigning world title-holder Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago.



Pathirage hit the front and ultimately sealed gold with his fourth javelin throw of 88.68m, although he did not trouble his world-leading personal best of 92.62m set two weeks ago in Rome.
