Srilanka, June 24 -- The number of tourists who have arrived in Sri Lanka since the beginning of January has surpassed the 1.1 million mark.



According to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), a total of 1,104,354 tourists visited the country between January 1 and June 21.



Meanwhile, the SLTDA stated that 82,332 tourist arrivals were recorded during the period from June 1 to June 21.

Among the tourists who arrived so far this month, the highest number of visitors were from India, accounting for 31,158 arrivals.



The United Kingdom recorded the second-highest number of tourist arrivals, with 6,658 visitors, while China ranked third with 5,178 arrivals.
