Sri Lanka, Oct. 7 -- Showers or thundershowers will occur at most places of the island after 1.00 p.m. today (07), the Department of Meteorology said.

Fairly heavy falls above 50 mm are likely at some places in the Northern, North-central, Eastern, Central and Uva provinces, the Met. Department added.

Showers or thundershowers may occur in the Western province and in the Galle, Matara, Puttalam, Jaffna and Trincomalee districts in the morning.

Meanwhile, the general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning and temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
