Sri Lanka, Aug. 9 -- The Meteorology Department states that several spells of light showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Northern provinces, and in the Nuwara-Eliya, Kandy, Galle, and Matara districts.

Mainly fair weather will prevail in other areas of the island, the Met. Department said.
