Sri Lanka, April 3 -- More than 500 families living in the Rukmalgama Housing Scheme are reportedly facing severe difficulties due to a lack of water for several days amid prevailing dry weather conditions.

In response to the situation, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has placed several 1,000-litre water tanks and had begun supplying water to households.

However, residents claim that some of these tanks have yet to be filled. They further noted that, due to the high demand, water supplied to certain tanks runs out within approximately 30 minutes.
