Srilanka, July 10 -- The newly appointed Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Damian Fernando, has called on the Chief Prelates of the Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters and had received their blessings during a visit to Kandy.



Vice Admiral Fernando first visited the Malwathu Maha Viharaya, where he met the Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanayake Thera of the Malwathu Chapter and received his blessings.



He then proceeded to the historic Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, where he was welcomed by Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela. The Navy Commander paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic and invoked blessings for the successful fulfilment of the Sri Lanka Navy's future responsibilities.
