Sri Lanka, Oct. 12 -- The majority of hospital admissions in Sri Lanka are caused by accidents, says Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

Speaking at a special awareness walk held this morning (12), the Health Minister highlighted that these accidents are largely preventable, and their prevention would bring significant benefits to both the healthcare system and the national economy.

The walk, organized by the Office for Emergency Accidents, started from the National Hospital in Colombo, passed the Viharamahadevi Park and proceeded to the Independence Square. The event aimed to increase public awareness and to appreciate the medical staff who treat accident victims.
