Sri Lanka, Oct. 23 -- The National Building Research Institute (NBRI) has extended the landslide early warning issued due to prevailing heavy rainfall, with the warning remaining in effect until 4:00 p.m. tomorrow (24).

Accordingly, Level 2 warnings have been issued to residents of the Elapatha, Kuruwita and Ratnapura Divisional Secretariat divisions in the Ratnapura District.

Level 2 warnings have also been issued to residents of the Mawanella, Deraniyagala, Ruwanwella, Dehiowita and Aranayake Divisional Secretariat divisions in the Kegalle District and the Ambagamuwa and Norwood Divisional Secretariat divisions in the Nuwara Eliya District.
