SriLanka, Sept. 13 -- The atmospheric conditions are favorable for afternoon thundershowers in most parts of the island today (13), the Department of Meteorology said.



Heavy rainfall about 100 mm are likely at some places in North-central, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western and North-western provinces.



A few showers will occur in Western province and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning, it added.



The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
