Sri Lanka, Aug. 30 -- Minister of Justice Harshana Nanayakkara says the government will not withdraw its efforts to introduce the proposed 22nd Amendment to the Constitution despite opposition or other obstacles, insisting that the judicial reforms are aimed at improving the efficiency of the justice system.



Minister Nanayakkara made the remarks today (30) while addressing the Badulla District Conference of the "Rata Hadana Jana Balaya" movement.



The proposed 22nd Constitutional Amendment has become the subject of considerable political and legal debate, particularly over plans to extend the retirement age of judges and proposed changes to the judicial system.
