Srilanka, Oct. 6 -- Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero and his being dressed in lay clothing were carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Prisons Ordinance.



Speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing held today (06), Minister Jayatissa stated that the Department of Prisons had acted strictly in accordance with the provisions of the Prisons Ordinance in this instance.



The Minister further stated that 63 Buddhist monks are currently serving prison sentences for various offences and that the same procedure has been applied to all of them.
