Srilanka, July 17 -- Further investigations into the death of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) C.D. Wickramaratne are being conducted by the Crime Division of the Western Province South Range and the Malabe Police Station, according to Sri Lanka Police.



Investigations commenced following information received by the Malabe Police Station that former IGP C.D. Wickramaratne had died after being admitted to the Colombo East Base Hospital (CEBH) in Mulleriyawa, with gunshot injuries.



Police said that gunshot injuries were sustained in an incident at his residence on Parakum Road in Thalangama, within the jurisdiction of the Malabe Police Division, this morning (17).
