Srilanka, July 23 -- Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath has met U.S. Ambassador to India and Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor, with discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Gor said the meeting addressed ways to enhance U.S.-Sri Lanka ties in areas including maritime security and the development of stable economic corridors in the Indian Ocean region.

He further stated that the United States remains committed to working with regional partners to promote stability and security in the region.
